The Things I Love
Always and always at the top of my Love List is
my family. I am amazed at the beautiful family I have.
I have had the love of my life my husband Lloyd,
who loved my with all his heart. When he died at 48 years of age
I thought my heart would never recover. . it didn't.
But my life has been blessed and full of joy.
Family is the most important thing in life.
It is true what the Prophets have told us.
"Nothing in life will matter, if you haven't the love
of your children"
"Nothing will compensate for failure in the Home."
I love the season.
I think Nature is in full glory right now.
The weather is perfect, the earth is changing.
And I like the change.
I love the sound of children laughing.
They are happy little souls.
It makes me happy to hear them laugh.
I love the scriptures.
I read them every day. And I love the time I spend
reading the words of God.
It gives me comfort, it gives me strength.
I love the Scriptures.
The Scriptures have done so much for me.
I love Church's
I love how we build beautiful buildings to worship in.
I know it doesn't matter how humble or grand a church building
may be, I love them.
The steeple, points upward to the heavens.
It is a symbol of our love and devotion to God.
I love to read, therefore I love books.
I am very selective with what I read.
I like a good book, that can carry me away.
It is good to read, I am thankful I was taught in my
young years to love reading.
I love books. I love to hold the book. I love to turn the pages.
And I love to READ.
So what do you love. .
You are unique and what you love will be
unique to you.
Have a wonderful day.
And be Thankful!

Just a few little thoughts I have today.
It is the last day of April and I am still wondering
where oh where does the time go?
I remember my Papa telling me the older you get
the faster time goes. Well, as always my Papa is right.
The funny thing is so much happens in a day and yet
the day ends and we begin another and another day.
Sometimes I have to pause and savor moments, even seconds
because I know time is fleeting. I am living my future right now.
I am in my late sixties. There was a time when I thought
late sixties was a long ways down my path of life.
Ha! it is here and I am living it. I think of how fast the last
20 years have gone, and I look to my future and wonder
if I will make it another 20 years.
I go to the Temple each month
it is there that I feel the peace of the Savior
and I am able to gain the proper perspective of life.
There is no end of days. There is no end to life.
But there are seasons of life and seasons of days.
Yesterday I pondered in my heart the season I am in
at this time. There are many blessings and gifts to this season of time.
I am thankful to embrace my season, and live my life to the fullest.
I just pray I may always be in harmony with my Savior and Heavenly Father.
They have given me so much.
It is Springtime where I live. My Springtime has passed.
When I was in the Springtime of my life I don't think I realized
how precious it was, I rushed through it. I believe it takes time and
years of experience to understand the preciousness of seasons.
Time passes, and with each day holds precious moments.
Now I don't want to rush, I want to take my time and enjoy.
Springtime in the Valley.
Tulips are a sign of Springtime.
Spring in my Home
My little Teddy loves to photo bomb!
What a character he is.
I have gone from raising annoying children to
raising annoying fur babies.
They both a require a high degree of tolerance and love.
In return they give me so much love and company
I can't complain, I am thankful.
I have a small backyard that is screaming for me to take care of it.
But, I just want to putter. . .I don't want to rush through
pulling weeds, and cleaning up the winter.
But, alas, I guess that is what this season is.
Cleaning up the past. And making new again.
Always look for the sunshine in your life even when
the darkness seems to be all that you see.
There is Light!

Well, things are happening. . as always
I may be changing the format of this blog.
Let me tell you my story.
I recently made some wonderful connections with my
Distant cousins from the Daley side of my family.
Because you see I am a Daley and I love family and I
Especially love finding cousins.
This cute Daley cousin started it all.
My second cousin Jeanine and her Daddy Dean.
She found me on Family Search.
She contacted me. . and the rest is history.
She and her wonderful Dad came to visit me at my home.
I shared with them my book I had made several years ago.
Lots of pictures of the Daley Family.
Her Grandmother, Winona, was my Grandpa Jean's baby sister.
We share the same Great-Grandparents. .
Graham Little Daley and Margaret Eva Simonds Daley.
We are so blessed to have found each other.
And our bond was immediate.
She is just a delightful gal. . .so thankful to call her cousin.
This past Tuesday we met with other cousins.
My Aunt Madeline Emma Daley Wilson was able to be with us.
She has lots of stories to tell of the family.
Along with cousins,
Jane Ann Wilson Draper and Cora Jean Wilson Jolly who are my
first cousins, and daughter to Aunt Madeline.
Blaine and Carolyn Wood and Nina and Dick Payne
Maurine Johnson Hurst and Ruth Daley Mathnvnk
Also joined us.
Madeline and I shared our Daley books. . and shared the stories of our
I made copies for everyone there. . It was a most delightful and spiritual
time that we spent together.
We want more of our family to join with us.
We want the Daley Cousins to come together.
There are so many we don't know where they are.
I am going to be sharing on this blog some of my stories and pictures of
My Daley family.
I hope if anyone out in blog land sees this blog and would like to contribute
To please contact me, and join in the gather of our family.
Families are Forever
And we must keep the connection going while here on this earth.
Hope you will come back and see the pictures I have to share
And the stories I have.
Hugs to all.

Hello my dear friends in blogland.
I am enjoying my summer so much that I forget to
Post on my little blog, Karie's Daley Life.
I have just been so busy.. . and I really have
Little to show for it, but I am having fun.
I love Retirement. . .It is the best.
I have been connecting with friends. .
New ones, and old ones, and some that are in the middle.
Time is fleeting. . going ever so fast
Some day is here for many of us.
These beautiful ladies are the girls I went to
All through school together.
We come from a small little town
Where everyone knew our names and our parents,
And our grandparents, and greats. . and beyond.
We were loved and cherished in our little town.
It was truly a place where everyone watched out for everyone else.
High School graduation brought many changes for us.
Some married, others went on to college and some headed for
The big city for work. . .
We all had our own journey to take.
Each journey is unique to that young woman.
Now we are in our Someday. . .
And our paths have come together again.
Spending time with each other. . recalling the tender
days of our youth.
Almost 50 years ago each of us took our own path,
Now our paths have joined together. . Amazing how that happens.
"There is a season for everything"
It is again our season to friendship one another,
To care for one another, To lift our spirits, and
To laugh with one another.
And to cry with one another . . . .. It is all part of the journey.
Our parents are gone, some have lost siblings,
Others of us have lost our husbands. . .
It is just the cycle of life.
A time to be young, A time to be in love,
A time to mourn, A time to rejoice.
I am going to cherish the moments we have
The times we are together. . our friendships are unique
Each one of us is destined for eternity.
But for this time on this beautiful earth. . I will share
A part of it with my old friends.
The Sweethearts of Yesterday.

Oh, it has been beautiful this morning.
We had a gentle Summer Rain last night and the
Earth is so refreshed.
And I feel refreshed.
Amazing how that works. . I believe we are all
Connected to the earth and the heavens.
When my soul is in turmoil I know that I have not been
Spending enough time connecting to my natural surrounding.
Or I have not spent the time to look at the night sky or
The blue beauty over head.
We are all somehow connected to nature.
Mother Earth sustains our lives through her bounty of nutrients
So why should it be any different that she would give us
The substance of Spiritual nutrients?
I guess it takes a Summer Rain to bring me back to my "roots".
I am thankful for Summer Rain. . .
