My LDS Seminary Graduate

My Grandson Joel graduated from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Seminary today. I am so proud of Joel. He is an amazing youngman. As a grandmother you could not ask for a sweeter, kinder grandchild than Joel. He is my first-born grandchild. He is very special to me. He lived with me for the first three years of his life. His time with me during those years are a very cherished memory of mine.
He is a blessing! Joel was only 6 weeks old when his Grandpa, my husband. Lloyd died. Joel was sent to help heal our family and show to us the loving mercy of a kind and loving Heavenly Father. That little baby brought so much joy to my family.
Watching him grow has been one of the many joys of my life.
Joel's mommy is my daughter. She is a great mommy. She is devoted to her 2 sons and her husband. Her life is centered in Jesus Christ and her family. Joel's daddy is a great daddy. He too is devoted to his 2 sons and his wife. They are a beautiful family with love and devotion.

I love my grandson Joel and I love these things about him:
He has a tender and gentle spirit.
He loves me
He loves his Mom and his Dad
He is devoted to his brother Andrew
He looks up to his Uncle Mat
He has a special place in his heart for his other 2 uncles
He has a cute sense of humor
He knows just the right things to say
He is polite and shows good manners
He loves the Lord Jesus Christ
He wants to serve a mission for the Church
He has good values
He is willing to do good for others
He is a youngman of integrity

I could go on and on about Joel. Suffice it to say he is a good boy!
I have loved watching him as he has grown-up. I look forward to watching the new chapters of his life. . . . I know there is so much more to come. More joy, more love, more pride
More JOEL. . . .

Memorial Tribute

I spent the day in the "Mother-land". I call it the motherland because it is where I come from. It is where I began. . . It is where my parents and my grandparents and my great-grandparents, and many more grandparents began. It is our family MotherLand. I go back every Memorial Weekend and I pay tribute to those buried in the motherland cemetery. That includes a lot of loved ones. But there is one who I love and miss so much. . . . there are not words to express how I feel about him. He is my husband. . . . It began 43 years ago. . . We were so young. It seems like a dream. Something wonderful that happened a long long time ago.
After 25 years we became like this. A wonderful life we had worked to create. Harmony and happiness was in our home. Laughter, chatter, activity, and most of all Love. . .

25 Years and 4 children. . . . what a great time, and what a great life.
And then........................................ it ended sooner than we had anticipated. Never to be on this earth again. Not in this lifetime.

This is where my husband is now. He has been there for 18 years. It is easier now than it was then, but it never stops from hurting. I wish it would have lasted longer, I wish I would have had a lifetime with him. I wish he could have finished his time with me and his children and grandchildren. . . . I wish he could have grown old with me. . . . Oh, the many wishes!

Because of Him, Jesus Christ, I know my husband's life did not end at the grave. I know he lives, and that someday we will be together, and time will not matter.

Because he and I were Sealed for Time and All Eternity in this place. It eases my pain and gives me Hope because I have Faith in the Savior Jesus Christ and the Promises I received in
His Holy Temple

Emma's 4th Grade End of Year Program

Me and my granddaughter Emma. How sweet it is to be her Grandma!
I know you can not see my granddaughter Emma in this picture, but I had to post it. It is so typical of all the little programs going on right now in thousands of schools as the school year 2009/2010 comes to an end. The youngsters performing for parents, grandparents and family and friends. Singing, dancing and showing the things they have learned this year. Emma's program was titled "Utah-This Is The Place To Be".
In 4th grade they learn Utah history.
I am so proud of my ancestry. Emma and my other grandchildren are 9 generation Latter-Day Saints. Our ancestors were among the first pioneers coming to Utah. They were the early settlers of the many mountain valleys and desert towns. They forged the way for those of us today to live in the great comfort of the Mountain West.
I love Utah!
There is not another place I would rather be to live my life, raise my children, grandchildren and enjoy my family and friends.
Utah is The Place

Emma Kay.
She is so gentle and kind. She has a tender heart and is very loving
She is very creative, and smart. She does very well in school. She is a little shy, and likes to giggle a lot. She is a good softball player and plays 1st base on her team.
This is her diorama for her Utah History project. She reported on the habitat of the Black Bear.

My life is full and blessed. . . . with 9 grandchildren 4 children and their spouses, how could I not be? A lot of activities going on this week and next. Also this weekend is Memorial Day weekend.
Little Zada is graduating from Kindergarten on Friday. (Where has the last year gone?) "Little" Joel graduates from high school and then there are all the ones in-between. My youngest grandchild is Little Maya, she moves to the next level of pre-school. . . . . Oh dear they are growing up, and leaving Grandma in their dust. . . . I don't know what I will do when the day comes I have no one in sports or other extra activities. Surely that day will never come.

PARK CITY

This is our BFF (Best Friends Forever) trip to Some of the cute sights of the unique little town or Park City Utah. Of course know for it's fantastic skiing in the winter. But for us fair weathered people a delightful place to visit in the off season, like May. Just thought you might like seeing some of the scenery.
I love these cute little houses in a row. . . .

The store fronts on the historic Main Street are so colorful and quaint. And expensive!

The Egyptian Theater made famous by Robert Redford and the Sundance Film Festival

The beautiful Main Street of Park City.

Here are the "Friends"! What a wonderful group of girls. I can't express how much I love and admire each one of them. We are truly Best Friends Forever. . . . We have been together for a long long time. A life time in fact. . . .

Vickie, who I love and adore. She gets me there and brings me home. And lots of talks in between. We miss freeway exits, we take detours, we talk til we are hoarse and we laugh even louder
Oh, and Vickie cusses the drivers of the other cars, as we miss the exits and the turns!

Judy, (sorry cut off in this pic), Jeannine, Joan, Karen, and Cristie

To our dear friend Janice, who let us be there together in her Condo. Thank you, thank you. She and JoAnn and Cristie were there a few days longer. Then me and Vickie came for a couple of days. Caren, Joan, Jeannine, and Karen came for the day. So much fun and laughter. Good things to eat and a night out at a local restaurant. Judy is a Park City native, so she showed us the sights and beautiful scenery of Park City. We stayed right on the historic Main Street.

It is hard for us to say good-bye. We know we will be having another get together, but it is always sad to say good-bye. Hugs and loves for everyone, take care, and remember to say your prayers! My dear sweet BFF. . . you are always in my prayers and in my thoughts.
Thank you for sharing your life with me.

JoAnn, Cristie, Janice

Lots of time spent laughing, because way too much crying goes on. What the heck happened on the journey of life? Did we think we were going to Disneyland and ended up in Death Valley?
Just remember I love you, it'll be alright

STATE CHAMPIONS

Bayli my granddaughter
TOOELE HIGH STATE SOFTBALL CHAMPIONS
This is my granddaughter Bayli. She is a STATE CHAMPION!

She is on the Tooele High School Girl's Softball Team and tonight they won the Championship game against Spanish Fork High School. . . . I am so excited. The team is awesome and Bayli is awesome. My little Bayli game me a championship. The boys in the family couldn't do it, but my Bay did it. She is such a sweet girl. She is only a Sophomore, so she will be back! She is a darn good ball player and she is a tremondous vollyball player. Not to mention she is a dancer. And least I forget she is a 4.0 student. . . . What a gal. Bayli, I am so proud of you. This is so much fun!
The pitcher on the team is Maddie Snow. She is an awesome pitcher. She "was" my grandson Joel's girlfriend. They went to the Jr. Prom together last year. Now his girlfriend is Marisa "Bug" Mendenhall, she is the catcher on the team. Makes it kind of interesting, because Maddie and Marisa are good friends, and Joel broke up with Maddie to go with Marisa "Bug". Oh, the complications of young love! It cracks me up! I just tell my grandson's to stay away from the girls. They mess young men up! But I also tell my granddaughters to stay away from the boys because they mess us youngwomen. . . . Do they listen to their grandma? Are you kidding! NO!

Scrappin' and Paintin'

I have been busy for the last couple of days. Saturday was a big day of Scrapbooking with my daughter Emily. We worked on Joel's High School scrapbook. . . It was so much fun! My sweetheart daughter Emily.
Junior Prom picture page.

My Cricut. The little workhorse when it come to cutting. . .

That is true, Forever and Forever in Tooele. If you don't know that is the Tooele High School song. . . I can't even remember my high school song, but I will never forget Tooele's.

Prom page of pictures, That is one handsome
youngman. I can't believe he has grown-up so fast.
My baby grandchild. . . . Ooo! I am getting all sentimental and teary eyed.
Too bad this is blurry, #76 is leader of the Buffalo Herd.

There he is, the Nipper, The Joel, The leader of the Herd! He and Andy loved having Granma there all day working on scrapbook pages. Remembering all the fun time.
Where did Andy go? I thought I had a picture of him.
I just had to show off the finished patio table. I think it turned out great.
I will plant the pots with some bright colored plants.

And my little ugly brown table turned cute green apple table. . . . It too is on the patio. Will look great with colored plants. . . . I love it also...................
So now this week, I am off to Park City for a few days, and then I will be back to scrappin' and paintin'. . . . Oh, and softball games and riding club, and what ever else the "kids" have for me. My daughter-in-law Gina has a piano that needs to be restored. I hope I get to help on that project. Really I do. . . I love doing this type of "stuff".
Hope someone out there in blogging world likes my ramblings and my
Daley life

Never Ending Projects

My son Mark is being nice (well sort of) and letting me use a portion of his garage for my painting projects. I make a big mess! If I wasn't at his place, I would have this mess on my patio and it would send me into orbit. . . . . and eventually it will send him. He told me today I was bringing in more than I was taking out. . . Hummmmmm, could be true. I have got to stay away from DI and the dollar store. But I am getting things done. This is my latest. I always forget to take a picture of the before. This little table was hidious. It came from my house via DI. . . . I have had it for several years and it was an ugly brown. Ugh!

Got the idea of "apple green" from Sassy Style. Sassy Style girl said to use a good primer and spray paint. None of that cheap stuff. She is right! It makes a difference. The paint goes on smoother, no runs, and it dries faster. It actually takes less paint. I love my new table. Now where am I going to put it? It may go on the patio. . . . .
I did bring home the bench I was working on. I will show you pictures next post. I have it on my patio and letting the clear coat dry for 24 hours. It is bright yellow! Loving it. Oh color where have you been? I think I have lived in "drab world". Bring on the color!
I have a couple of other big pieces I want to paint. I don't paint when it gets hot. And living in Utah there are only two temperatures, cold and hot! In the next week or so we will jump into the hot zone and I will be complaining that it is too hot. . . . I complain about the weather a lot.
So for the next little while I will be working on my paint projects. Get them done before summer.
Tomorrow I will be at my daughter's scrapbooking. She informed me "we" have scrapbooks that need to be completed before Joel graduates! Which is on June 2nd. I am so glad my kids have a MOM that gets to help them all the time! I didn't have one and there are just times you need to use your Mom's time and talents and energy (and resources)!
My life is dedicated to the little buggers and I love it.
Watch for the next post. . . My life isn't that exciting but I do have pictures.

Some Odds and Ends

Some odds and ends of things I like and things I really LOVE! I love Jared! He is my youngest grandson. He is the only one to carry on the Lloyd Jackson family name. . . . that is a big responsibility for him. In fact he is the last generation to carry the Jackson name for his great-grandfather. He is so cute in his new glasses. At first he wouldn't let me take his picture, but now he is ok with it. He is so loving. He always has a big hug for me no matter where we are. I love my little Jared!
I love lions! With a Dad who has the name of Leo and a son with the middle name of Leo, and I graduated from Payson High whoes mascot is the Lion, how could I not love lions. But this little lion is one of the cutes lions there is. Her name is Maya. No she is not a lioness, she is a Lion! In her "pretend" world she is a lion. She has the moves, the actions and the roar of a lion. She loves lions, and watches every movie that has a lion in it. But she is a timid lion and ever so shy!

I love babies feet! Have you really ever thought about how sweet and cute babies feet are? I love to smoother them in kisses. I love when a baby discovers their feet. They play with them, they have them in their mouth, they babble to them. . . . Oh, how I miss my little babies feet!

I like the Eiffel Tower. . . I just do! I have never been there. The closest to seeing the Eiffel Tower I have seen is in Las Vegas. I will never get to France to see the real Eiffel Tower, but that doesn't matter to me I still like the Eiffel Tower.
I have many more things I love, these are just a few.
I am leaving you today with the wisdom of a very great woman, Mother Theresa. I think she is now a Saint, which would only be right for such a person who gave so much love to the world.
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your sould the freedom to sing, dance and praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us. . . . .

Monday Greetings

Yesterday was Mother's Day, I had a wonderful day. Mathew and Melanie had my family for a barbeque after church. Just my sons and their families were there because Emily had other plans. I saw her later that evening.
My boys are so much fun to be with. They make me laugh so hard. They have alot of their Dad in them. He could make you laugh. He had such a cute personality and my sons are alot like him. They play off of each other and are so funny and say the funniest things. I love being with them and their wives. We get along so well and their is so much love between us. The little cousins love to be together and the day was warm and beautiful so they had a ball playing outside. What a great day.
I stand all amazed at what my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ have given me. I am so blessed and so loved. I couldn't ask for more, I have so much now. It will only get better and more abundant. . . . Being a Mom and a wife is all I ever wanted. I didn't want a career, nor anything of that nature, I just wanted to be married and to have children. My life as a wife was cut short for reasons I don't understand, but my life as a Mom has multiplied and is full and joyful. My heart overflows with love for my children and grandchildren. Eternal takes on new meaning each and every day. They are mine FOREVER!

Well, my bedroom is complete. The headboard was moved in on Saturday with the help of Shelly. I am very happy with it. I wish it showed more when the pillows are stacked on my bed, but that is ok, I can decorate with some of my treasures on the top and I have the sliding doors to put things in, such as my scriptures and others odds and ends. As I stated before it is a heirloom because of the help of my two little girls, Zada and Maya. It has a few imperfections, but they are more character building than imperfections. I love it!

Just another view of it, without the pillows stacked. Of course my treasures have to be displayed. I am a decorator and I like things grouped on top. Notice the plates, I love plates and decorate alot with them in my home. This makes my bedroom so cozy and comforting.

My Mom

This is my Mom, Bonnie Bliss Beddoes Daley. I only had her for 7 years of my life. She has been gone for 54 years. She gave birth to me, her first-born, and to my brother her baby boy. The picture on the left is of my Mom and my brother, Alan. The picture on the right is of me and her.
She was a very loving mother, she adored me and my brother. We were her baby dolls. She fussed over me and showered me with love and attention. My Mom was very a very talented woman. She sewed like a professional, created a beautiful home for my Dad, me and my brother. She could do anything she set her mind to do. Her personality was "spunky". She had a mind of her own. Full of life and laughter with a twinkle in her eye. I loved her, and have shed many tears because I didn't have her. I use to think of all the things I missed not having a mother, and then when I was blessed with my own children, I realized all that she had missed not being here on this earth with her children, and grandchildren. She loved life and family. She cherished her Mother my Grandma Dot, and her sisters, Carol and Diane and her brother Richard. Her life ended on a cold winter night in December 1955. A drunk driver silenced her laughter and her zest for life.
Bonnie Bliss, defined who I am today! A part of her lives on in the lives of me and my brother, her 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
To my Mom, where you are today, I will someday be with you. Time will not be counted, and eternity will be ours. Thank you, and I LOVE YOU. Always. . . . .

IT'S MAY !

I have been so busy I didn't get a post out to everyone saying Happy May Day!
I like May. . . Summer is just around the corner and the winter is behind us. I am awakened to the newness ( is it a word) of my surroundings. The earth is beginning to be adorned with the beauties of flowers and trees, grasses and fields. The mountains are still capped with snow, but life is beginning to show through with green. Also in May we celebrate Mother's. How appropriate it would be in May, when Mother Earth is so beautifully adorned. Happy May!

Oh, least I forget (how could I). My $10 headboard is now drying. I put the clear coat on it today. Here is a picture of the drying process. Notice the nightstand I added to the painting project. I will post a picture when it comes to my house and becomes my bed. My two little helpers weren't with me today. Darn!
What a treasured time this has been with Zada and Maya helping me. The headboard took on new meaning because of their help. I will always remember their little helping hands, their chatter, and their laughter. They sang, they giggled and most of all they were with me, their Grandma! My bed will become an heirloom becaue of them. I will never erase the loving memory of my two little helpers. I am a little sad because the project is almost over. . . . I am so thankful my time as a Grandma will never end! They are mine FOREVER!

Work In Progress

Remember the little table I spray painted a while back?
This is it decorated at the end of my kitchen.
My two little helpers. . . We are going to "prime" the $10 headboard. Grandma can't seem to tell them "no you can't help". What is it with being a Grandma, and saying no?

The $10 headboard i found at DI. It is in very good condition. I am going to paint it blue.

The Spring wreath on my front door.

Takes time to get things done. I am excited to get my headboard done, and get my bedroom the way I want it. I have so many ideas. I do have the time, I just have to get myself going.
I don't think I have told you about staying with my great-aunt Colleen. What a wonderful time. I visited with other relatives, Aunt Diane and Uncle Jerry. My cousins Joan, Claudia, and Janie. My Aunt Colleen and Janie are the DI queens. They are always finding furniture treasures. They have a little business and sell their painted furniture. They sell three times a year. They are having their spring sale this weekend. I hope I can go to it. I have their blog listed on my side-bar. We-do-re-dos is their blog. They have darling things. Me and Aunt Colleen made a trip to the Provo DI. I did find me some treasures! If I lived closer to my Aunt and cousin I would help them paint. I love finding and re-purposing furniture. I will post again with picture of the finished headboard project. Antique Blue is what I am thinking.
Did I tell you Blue is my favorite color? Well it is. . . Because it is the color of the sky and the color of my Daddy's eyes! My Daddy had the most beautiful blue eyes. And that is why I love blue.
I won't be painting tonight. . . it is Dancing With The Stars! There are priorities in this life you know. W0000000 also I have to watch the Jazz this week. They just have to beat the Lakers. I DO NOT like the LA Lakers! I cheer for whoever they are playing against....GO JAZZ!
