A Little Bit of Advise and A New Project

Here is a little bit of advise I would like to give you. . .
BE CAREFUL WITH WHAT YOU PRAY FOR
IT JUST MIGHT HAPPEN!
Prayers are always answered in the manner and time the Lord has set
sometimes we are just not quite ready
or
we question his timing
or
that which HE has sent.
I know I have you confused with what I am talking about
But,
believe me I am very confused right now.
Of course being confused isn't too uncommon for me
I think the older I get the more confused I become. . . .
How does that happen
we are suppose to be wiser and know the answers to things
when we are older. . . . . .
Maybe I am not quite old enough!
So
My heart is fluttering over a couple of things.
and I can't sleep at night.
It is 3:30 AM
What is wrong with me?
I am so excited I am going to see and hear
Paul McCartney
Tonight
In Salt Lake City.
I would have liked to have seen him while I was in my prime
and he was in his
But, I will take it NOW!
I am sure I will lots to say next time I blog
and I hope to have lots of pictures! So
to keep my mind off of other things going on in my life
and
to keep me busy
I have another project in the works.
Jen over at
Tatertots and Jello
does the most amazing things.
She is so talented it is unbelievable.
I go there all the time to get inspired.
She likes Quatrefoil
and so do I
I like the design and pattern of quatrefoil
and the historical significance of it.
It is on a lot of architecture.
Look closely and you will see it.
A lot of beautiful fabric has it also.
I just love it.
Don't you just love this platter Jen has done in quatrefoil?
I really like it.
But then I love anything I can hang on a wall.

I got this poor ugly lonely stool at DI
I am a sucker for anything poor and lonely,
so
of course I bought it.
I brought it home
I want it to look like Jen's stool. . . . . . . .
Do Ya Think
I, me, Karie
can make this ugly poor lonely stool
Look like this?

This is what Jen at Tatertots and Jello
did with her lonely old stool
I love this stool
not only do I love the quatrefoil
I love the colors.
Just my style
So this is my project for the next few days.
(well maybe more than a few days)

Check back with me and hopefully I will have
a cute quatrefoil stool of my own
Thanks Jen

Also, in a few days I may tell you what is going on
with my answered prayer.
Or I may not!

Fun To Be In Bloggerland

This past week has been a fun time for me
I stepped out of my "blog comfort zone"
and I posted on 2 other sites.
I posted a blog about my patio
and the furniture I have re-done
and the accessories I have found
to brighten up my little space
and make it a HAPPY PLACE
As you all know I love to craft
paint furniture, reporpose "stuff"
and shop for this "stuff" in
thrifty stores (DI)
and unusual places that are
out of the mainstream and out of the
ordinary. . . .
Well my experience showing my stuff on the other
web-sites was very positive. . . .
I had good feed back from other bloggers
who do the same things I do. . . .
I have had people visit my blog from San Diego to Washinton DC
and all points inbetween.
WOW! I was amazed.
My blog is now over 600 viewers!
Can you believe it?
I can't!
But. . . . . . . . .
it is my
Friends
and Family
that frequently view my
blog
that I love and appreciate. . . . .
You are the ones that
inspire me to blog about my life and to step out
of my Blog Comfort Zone.
Karie's Daley Life
is about my life. . . . . .
I don't want to turn my Daley Life
into just a craft blog
showing my stuff
SO
I am thinking of starting another blog
(ya, another blog, let me know if I am crazy)
It will just have my projects and things I do
and I will enter it in the "Linky Parties"
in Bloggerland. .
I will still show you guys pictures of my projects,
but I will also blog and show pictures of
my adorable family
my friends
and you will still read about my Daley Life
The ramblings of a crafty, loving, lonely soul
My other blog will be called
Karie's Chic Creations
(karieschiccreations.blogspot.com)
But keep coming here
This is where I will be
Blogging about my life and my journey
A long time ago I traded my
Vacations
A Career
Fancy cars and expensive clothes
Big expensive houses
and all the things the world thinks is important
For some very important "things"
My FAMILY
My RELIGION
Being a MOM
A GRANDMA
A WIFE
and
Being a FRIEND
I wanted a HOME
one that I could say
HOME SWEET HOME
I turly believe to
BLOOM
where you are
PLANTED

This is a peek of

MY HOME SWEET HOME

Remember my shelf I told you about? The one that fell off the wall?
Well this is what I did with it
and the surrounding space!
All the frames are from DI
I won't pay more than $1.50 for a frame
then I bring it home and
you guessed it. .
SPRAY PAINT!
Fabric and Scrap Paper is what I added.

(Martha Stewart)
This is where I got my inspiration.
I love Martha Stewart!

I still have a lot to show you and a lot to ramble about.
Hope you enjoy reading and viewing about
My Daley Life
(ya I spelled Daley correctly. . . you may not know but I am a DALEY)

Apartment Patio

Oh Boy, This is new to me!
I have wanted to show my creations on
the CSI blog, but I haven't dared. . .
I am new to blogging and showing my "stuff"
So please bear with me as I show
My Apartment Patio
to the CSI viewersI love this little pot.
The texture of the twine
I think makes it a perfect
place for the cute little
cacti plant
Just about all of the patio accessories and furniture
comes from the thrift store DI
I paint most things, but. . .
this little stool I will leave the way it is
I like the patiena (however you spell it) on it.

Even my unfinished (needing to be painted) desk
serves a purpose on my patio
It holds a pot of plants and bucket for my USA flags
Just a colorful decoration of buckets and pots
giving patio space vibrant color

The table was a cheap find at DI
It was ugly
and needed
tender loving care
so I spray painted it.
My first time with spray paint.
Now watch out, nothing is safe
when I am spray painting!

These last two pictures are my "treasures".
They give my patio its personality
(Yes, it has a personality)
My yellow chair is a "road kill" find!
I love her! Really I do. . . .
I don't like pots in the "hole"
so I have a painted a cupboard door
for a shelf to put the pots on. . .

This is also a cheap find from DI.
I painted it and turned it into a real treasure.
I REALLY LOVE IT!
The colored pots set it off!

I enjoy sitting on my patio in the evenings
enjoying the colors of not only the furniture
but the flowers. . . . and the surroundings
I believe where ever we are planted
we can make it
BLOOM.

July Weekend Wrap-up

Just a wrap-up of my
4th of July weekend
It was great!
We celebrated for 3 days!
Thought I would give you a peek of
my activities3 of my granddaughter were in the parade
1 grandson was in the parade
So. . . .
Maya and Zada
and
Joel and Andy
watched the parade with me
We all anxiously waited for the parade to begin
I am grateful it wasn't hot!
This year was a cool 4th.
Andy (yawn) is a little tired and bored waiting.
He is only interested in the
cheerleaders that ride in the parade.
Gina, Blake and Russ are waiting patiently.
My two little darlings. . . .
Maya, Zada
The parade people throw candy as they pass by
I think these two got about 5 pounds of candy!
Really!
(Zada did share with Uncle Russ)
Oh, Joel, what a face!

Andy
Waiting for those cheerleaders!
(he is interested in one!)

Here are the CHAMPIONS
Emma

Brissa (in sunglasses)
and the Team
(Just a peek of Mat on the back of the truck)

There is my Jared in the window of the truck
Melanie is standing on the steps of the truck
Blake would not ride in the parade

Here is the sweetheart Sara.
(in the black hat on the brown horse)
Riding Bell.
This was Sara's first year riding in the parade
She is in the Junior Bit N' Spur Riding Club
She did so well, and Bell was very
calm riding in the parade.

Ya, gotta love Tooele's 4th of July Parade
There are always lots of Army trucks
When me and Lloyd first moved here
We were use to the beautiful parades in
Utah County
with lots of beautifuly decorated floats.
Not so in Tooele

This is a military town
So. . . . .
there were no decorated floats.
There were Army tanks (big ones) and lots of trucks
Even Miss Tooele County rode on a military truck!
Not much has changed.
Although there was one float. . .
Miss Tooele County.

Of course a parade isn't complete without a marching band
Tooele High School Marching Band
I use to not pay as much attention to bands
but after being married to a band director
I pay more attention.
And I do like to hear a marching band
Really, I do!

So.. . . . . . . .
After the parade
I went to
Jim and Sharon's for a barbaque
Sharon is my son-in-laws mother.
It was a great gathering of family and friends.
And I can't believe I forgot my camera!
Their yard is so nice
and she and Jim do such a good job
feeding and entertaining everyone
It is lots of fun
I look forward to it each year.

So. . . . .
Another 4th Celebration
is past.
Now on to the rest of the SUMMER!
I have a DALEY reunion this weekend.
Paul McCartney in one week!
24th of July coming up.
Oh, Time Please Don't Go So Fast!

God Bless America

Words can not express how proud I am to be an American

I love this great country. . . . I am proud to say that my ancestors

were among the first to come to this land. They have helped shape

and for this great country. Proudly I can say that I am a

Daughter of The American Revolution. . . . I have an ancestor

Johan Nebeker who fought in the American Revolution!

My father was a World War II Veteran.

But I am more proud to say that my fore-fathers worked tirelessly to

provide for my families so that we could share in the American Dream.

And I have enjoyed the rewards of that dream. . .

May God Bless the United States of American and may we all proudly

proclaim we are worthy to be AMERICAN'S........

CELEBRATE THE USA

I hope you don't mind
I am going to show you
my home
decorated for
one of my favorite holidays
JULY 4th!
Well, Here It Is
JULY
I love July. . . . You know why?
Two of my favorite celebrations are in July
The first is of course

The 4th of July
and the second is
The 24th of July. . .

If you live in Utah you get to celebrate both holidays
But really. . . .
The 4th is the best
No pressures
Just pleasure!

Parades
Picnics
Fireworks
Rodeos
Just good summer FUN!
Most important celebrating this great country
The United States of America
No where else compares to it. . . .

I like to decorate for the 4th
(In my younger years, with my children I decorated for every holiday)
Now I am selective
This picture shows a creation of mine. . .
2 plate stands
for the cupcakes!

My patriotic lollies are
part of the
centerpiece on my dining table
It makes a cute 4th of July vinette
and quite festive looking. . . .

Sweet land of Liberty
and
We the people
good reminder of the blessings
I have living in this great
Country

Some of my decorations
have cherished memories
These plates were given to me by my
Friend Judi
Judi is my friend in Cedar City
While living there I became acquainted with Judi
We were kindred spirits
I looked all over for patriotic plates
(I love plates and decorate a lot with them)
Judi found these plates while
on vacation in California
she thought of me and brought them home to me.
(so sweet of her)

My front door
Greets you with a Star
(ya, I live in an apartment)

I pray that
God with continue to
Bless the USA!
Heaven only knows how much we need it!

Of course the outside needs to speak of the

Celebration
I will be celebrating on Saturday
(since the 4th is a Sunday)
Sunday is always devoted to God!
I will go to the parade in the morning
3 of my granddaughters
and 1 grandson
will be riding in the parade. . .
A family/friends barbaque will be later in the day
at Jim and Sharon's
The evening will be capped off with
Fireworks!
There is nothing like it in the world
Just good ole' hometown
Celebrating
For the greatest country in the world
May God be ever with the
USA
